IPL 2025 Points Table, April 4: MI slide further after LSG defeat
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by 12 runs in Match No.16 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday, April 4 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. With their third defeat in four matches, MI slipped to seventh in the table with a net run rate of -0.771.
After being asked to bat first, LSG put up a score of 203 for the loss of eight wickets. Mitchell Marsh led the charge with a 60-run knock off 31 balls, laced with nine fours and two sixes. Aiden Markram also contributed heavily with a 53-run knock off 38 balls. Hardik Pandya became the first IPL captain with a five-wicket haul after figures of 4-0-36-5.

Chasing the stiff target of 204, MI could only reach 191 for the loss of five wickets. Suryakumar Yadav scored 67 runs off 43 balls with the help of nine fours and a six. Naman Dhir and Hardik Pandya scored 46 and 28 not out respectively, but their efforts went in vain.
